SJU To EIS San Juan To Tortola

British Virgin Islands main Airport EIS is the Terrence B Lettsome International Airport. It is situated on the east side of Tortola the British Virgin Islands main island. Locals call it Beef Island airport. This airport was built recently costing $82 million. This airport is known to be the most striking in the Caribbean. The latest extension to the runway was finished back in 2004 so that it can accommodate larger jets that arrive from St Maarten & San Juan International. The customs and arrivals halls are all well air conditioned along with the departure lounge.

The British Virgin Islands also has a few other smaller international airports one on Virgin Gorda and another at Anegada, both are serviced uniquely by local charter airlines, all based in the British Virgin Islands. The landing strip at Virgin Gorda is fairly interesting to say the least, mainly because of strong cross winds, so just twin engine planes and helicopters are permitted to land here.
