U.S. and Caribbean sale fares on Spirit from $78 R/T*

Spirit is offering a U.S. and Caribbean sale starting at $78 round-trip. Destinations include Las Vegas, Cancun, and St. Thomas.

Of the seven routes I checked, Spirit's prices were the best available for five. Spirit has quite a few good deals available in this sale, but it's still a good idea to do a quick fare-comparison before you book.

The deal

Travel is valid Mondays through Thursdays through May 23. Book tickets at least six days in advance, and by January 26.

Sample round-trip fares, not including additional taxes and fees, are:

$78 between Ft. Lauderdale and Nassau
$138 between Detroit and Ft. Myers ($138 from US Airways)
$178 between Atlanta and Las Vegas
$218 between Chicago (O'Hare) and San Juan
$238 between New York (LaGuardia) and Montego Bay
$278 between Los Angeles and Cancun
$278 between Washington, D.C. (National), and St. Thomas ($268 from Delta, Northwest, US Airways)
