Meeting I Ketut Selamet and his family was probably the highlight of my entire trip. I cannot thank them enough for their generosity and hospitality - to welcome a total stranger into their country and make them feel at home, that's something that I will never forget.

I was able to meet him because of a mistake. When you rent a hotel in Bali, the hotel is supposed to provide pick up/drop off from the airport to the hotel. Luckily, my hotel forgot me and I found a new driver - that's how I met Ketut. He was the most awesome driver, tour guide, bargain hunter, negotiator that a visitor to Bali could ever have. Our hotel was overpriced - he found us a cuter one for less than half the price of the old hotel. I wanted to buy clothes from tourist stands - he found me the best deals. He took us to Uluwatu and told us where to sit so the sun wouldn't get in our eyes. He speaks English well. His wife makes a great cup of coffee. His kids and nieces are adorable. Son tarif est correct et il s'est bien occupe de nous pendant nos vacances - notre hotel etait trop cher pour ce que c'etait et il nous a trouve un bungalow plus mignon pour la moitie du prix de l'autre; il m'a aide a negocie les prix quand je voulais faire du shopping; il conduit bien et franchement je ne sais pas comment faire pour le remercier pour l'accueil merveilleux a bali a part le recommander ici.
